On November 4 the “Clean Energy Partnership Act” was introduced by Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) and co-sponsored by Senators Max Baucus (D-MT), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Tom Harkin (D-IA), Mark Begich (D-AK), and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH). According to Senator Stabenow’s press release, “This bill will create partnerships among manufacturing, utilities, agriculture, and forestry to reduce costs now as we transition to a clean energy economy tomorrow. The legislation “offsets” our use of fossil fuels by investing in practices like sustainable agriculture and forestry projects that capture and store carbon.”
